How to Protect Our Skin in Delhi’s Air Pollution

These days, pollution levels are getting worse day by day. The air quality in Delhi has become so poor and has reached a level that has been marked as an emergency situation. The rising levels of air pollution are affecting one’s health in different ways. It is not affecting only your health but also your skin in a very bad manner.

Your skin may become dull due to over-exposure to the increasing pollution levels. You may face clogged pores, redness, acne, dehydration and a number of other skin problems. Your skin may feel difficulty in breathing.

A few precautions need to be taken care of to protect your skin from the horrible pollution of Delhi. The following are the steps the help restore your skin health from the growing pollution.

Increase in air pollution can occur any time so you should be well prepared for it in advance. When stepping outside, cover your face and arms as much as possible. Wear a mask always in order for your lungs and your face to be protected.

Carry a scarf with you and simply wrap it over your face and forehead. In addition, don’t forget to apply sunscreen on a daily basis to safeguard your skin from air pollution.

Cleanse properly:

To protect your skin from air pollution, keep your face clean and free from dust. Wash your face at least twice daily. Clean your face in a proper way at the end of the day.

Remove all your makeup from your face. Then wash it with a face wash or cleanser to eliminate all the dust particles and pollutants. Thereafter, moisturize your face with a moisturizer.

Drink a lot of water:

For proper skin health, drinking sufficient amount of water is essential. Your body flushes out toxins and keeps your skin clear when you drink plenty of water.

It purifies your skin and gives it a natural glow. Always carry a water bottle with you and drink water whenever and wherever possible. In this way, you will also be able to reduce other skin issues naturally.

Nourish your skin: 

A proper nourishment is required by your skin regularly. It improves your skin texture and lessens the skin damage that the pollution causes. Fruits or natural ingredients like aloe vera, yogurt, turmeric, milk, and some others can be used to make natural face packs.

It provides your skin with a natural glow and helps you fight dull skin effectively. You can also hydrate your skin overnight using masks in order to repair the damage.

Tips for Skin Care while Indoors:

At home, arrange a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter and vacuum regularly to clean up dust particles settled in on your carpet and other surfaces in your house.

Always keep air conditioner filters clean in order for them to trap pollutants that make efforts getting indoors. Use an air purifier with a humidifier to reduce the effects of air pollution.

Healthy Eating:

Take a healthy diet and eat jaggery. Eat vitamin C-rich fruits and green vegetables that also help keep your skin healthy and beautiful. Drink a lot of fluids rich in antioxidants that help to protect skin from the cellular damage caused by free radicals.
